“Wow, rub it in,” Sam says, laughing. He starts to move away and Matt reaches up to slide fingers into his hair and pull him into a kiss. Sam returns it for a moment before he pulls back to stub the joint out on the floor, say, “Yeah, not gay at all,” and climb into Matt’s lap.

Jesus Christ they're both so fucking stupid 💕
No angst, all fluff, genuinely funny and a unique take on their dynamic! Dialogue is bitchy in the funnest way, and the "platonic" intimacy of their friendship is like nothing I've seen in DD fic before (but def recognize from. um. college. cuddling your bestie in bed is normal, right?) Includes delightful tiny details that make the scene feel real, vibrant, relatable (ie spinning a takeout bag while walking home). "Foggy has too many not-boyfriends" is a niche but favorite trope of mine, I think.

As soon as Foggy says, “Uh-huh,” he knows he’s fucked. His voice cracks in the middle of it so even without Matt’s freaky heartbeat-lie-detector skills he’d be able to tell Foggy is a dirty liar.
Foggy wishes for another alien invasion as Matt’s eyes grow wide behind his glasses.

“Ugh, he’s probably all concerned, doing that concerned frown at you right now. You know the one, with the little dent in between his eyebrows. Fuck that dent. I love that damn dent, he looks like a woodchuck.”
It's the one with the absolutely perfect Foggy-voice that I've read so much I basically have it memorized. Fantastic not-actually-unrequited-love, funny with a tinge of angst, and great Matt characterization.

A fic that just got stronger and stronger every chapter. A Matt that's somehow even MORE fucked up than in the show. A case study into Matt's obsession with calling himself the devil AND!!! his journey to letting himself WANT things for himself!
Love that Matt and Foggy both got to have their own separate coming out scenes, followed eventually with getting together (though there's not much of that part in the fic).
Angsty as fuck and pretty dark at times, but Foggy (and Karen) swoop in with the comfort. Potentially triggering re: parent death and abandonment issues. Thank fuck I wasn't raised Catholic.
