Dennis didn’t think when the words left his mouth “Robby, wait!”
His attending turned around, eyebrows raised in question and Dennis quickly caught up to him. He didn’t know what to say. He only knew that he couldn’t let Robby leave like that. Not after the shift they had today. Not after Robby had basically burned all the bridges that connected him to the people working in the ER. Not after what Robby had said about maybe not returning.
“Could you give me a quick tour of the place?”
At the end of their shift on the 4th of July, Dennis tried his hardest to make Robby stay. At least one more night.
