Summary
When Robby starts his rotation at the ED he thinks he knows what to expect. At M.S. 4, the last rotation he needs is emergency medicine, but having done his last one in the ICU he figures he’s bringing in good experience. Some would call that cocky. Bratty, even. Robby argues that it’s not cockiness he’s packing, but intelligence. Core knowledge on the internal workings of medicine. His evaluations clearly reflect that, so if he has a bit of an ego he argues it’s well deserved.
Robby brings this attitude with him on his first day at PTMC. He’s in nice scrubs, comfy shoes he’s broken in, and has his notepad ready for any questions. He holds himself with an air of confidence because he knows he’s able to handle this.
That quickly proves to be wishful thinking.
The senior attending, Dr. Dennis Whitaker, is an interesting man to say the least.

Summary
Usually when Robby is awoken by Jack on their joint day off it is under significantly more sexy circumstances. Circumstances that typically include Robby’s face pressed against a pillow or Jack feeling up under his shirt, groping and prodding as he whispers exactly how he’s going to take Robby apart.
Well, his hands are definitely up Robby’s shirt. Not necessarily in an arousing way. He hisses as the ice cold hands press against the fat of his stomach, arching away as Jack sleepily grumbles.
“What the hell are you doing?” Robby whispers harshly, trying to curl away from the evil, frozen mitts of his husband. Ex-husband if this keeps up. Which it seems to be if Jack’s tighter hold on him means anything.
“‘S cold.” Jack grouses, voice gravelly and pleasant in his ear even with his utter betrayal of actions. Of course it’s cold. It’s February in fucking Pittsburgh. Robby could probably ice skate on their sidewalk on the way to work at this rate.

Summary
This new message is decidedly less professional and semi-affectionate. It’s a simple text, but one that has Dennis nearly throbbing in his pants just from the sight of it. A sign Robby isn’t just placating him.
It takes a couple minutes for Dennis to register the message, squinting at the text.
How do you feel about puppy play? It reads out. Dennis wants to ask if he means has Dennis ever felt like getting a dog. The answer is maybe.
Dennis realizes this is not what Robby means by the question before a link is sent. Dennis squints and clicks on it, only to have his brain reduced to tv static as he takes in what the website has to offer.
Collars, leashes, clickers. Muzzles, cages, and more. Dennis hesitates at first before the visual of Robby hooking a finger into his collar paints his vision. Dennis reaches a happy realization then that he will happily indulge. After all, Robby told him to mention when something was too much. Surely this applies to something Dennis is very much into.
Dennis feels his cock throb eagerly in his pants as he types out his own reply.

Summary
Really, it hadn’t been that traumatizing of an ordeal. Sure, maybe having the burlap sack thrown over his head as he was jumped on the way to his Jeep had been a bit of a surprise, but with John being related to who he was related to….it isn’t all that shocking. It was bound to happen sooner or later. John is honestly more shocked he didn’t realize it was happening until he was haphazardly thrown into the car with an undignified yelp.
The car, or van, whatever the fuck it was, is stuffy and bumpy. Sweat pools around his neck and John really wonders for a second if this was some other elaborate prank from the rest of the staff of County General considering they seemed to make it their life’s mission to poke and prod at him. If they weren’t saving people’s lives, that is. Whoever it is had to have been pretty strong considering all the flailing and kicking John had done before getting tossed over their shoulder.
John knows one thing. He’s never taking a night shift again.

His eyes skimmed the hormonal breakdown, only half-absorbing what he knew it all meant over the buzzing in his ears, before they dropped to the lab’s conclusion at the bottom of the page in bold type: PATIENT’S LEVELS ARE INDICATIVE OF PREGNANCY.
“Carter?” Carol asked and her hand reached out to grasp his elbow like she was afraid he was about to collapse. “Is it-? Are you alright? You went awfully pale.”
“I’m…” John trailed off and then he let out a breathless laugh as a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Shit, I’m pregnant.” Another laugh, steadier and unmistakably elated, bubbled up as he raked a hand back through his hair and let the information sink in.
