Summary
He hates Sejanus. He’s sure he does. Hates the way Sejanus takes everything for granted, hates the way people want to possess Sejanus – and how Sejanus lets them, so easily, so desperate to be loved; he hates the way Sejanus throws away his money like it’s nothing; hates how Sejanus is so ungrateful for everything he has done and will continue to do. Do I even exist to you, Sejanus Plinth? Am I a ghost to you? A guardian angel? Can you see me, really?
Most of all, he hates how Sejanus makes him burn...Coriolanus doesn’t even know if the burning he feels is really hatred. It isn’t love, but it’s somewhat passionate. Passionate like a punch. Skin on skin; osseous knuckle meeting soft, sensitive flesh.
Splitting open hearts or splitting open the skin on lips. What was really, truly, the difference?
OR
Seven times Coriolanus was a sinner and Sejanus was the saint. One time Coriolanus made sure it stayed that way.

Summary
“It’s life,” he says tensely. A statue like always, immovable, words measured. So charming, is this the monster? “Snow lands on top. Be a victor with me, Tigris.”
Tigris, grappling with the death of the boy she once knew, and the cold affection of Coriolanus Snow.

Summary
Years later, after he’s lost count of the dead children bleeding in arenas, after the Capital has forgotten the war they’re avenging. Years later, he’ll think it’s so fitting. Sejanus will curl into silk sheets. Lucy Gray stretched out across from him - the monstrous boy they love in between them. His wife down the hall.
He’ll recall the whispers, the people who once sneered at him who now flinch back. Snow’s songbird, and his loyal dog.
-
Or Lucy Gray and Sejanus Plinth are a little bit more clever, and they know exactly who the boy they love too much is. It saves their lives, but it doesn’t mean this is a kinder story. Just a different sort of tragedy.
