Summary
Jason is chasing after the latest magical asshole who thinks that Gotham is easy pickings when there's a flash of bright light and he finds himself in a Gotham that seems pretty familiar, but also off. Lacking access to any of his usual resources, he reluctantly makes contact with the local Bats, who turn out to not be assholes, and offer to let him stay at the Manor while they all work on a way to get him home.
It would make for a relatively chill, if forced vacation, if it weren't for the fact that he's started to feel kind of shitty over the last few days... He doesn't want to bother Alfred. It's probably just his body adjusting to a different universe, right?

“Oh, but I already am,” the Herald replied, tone faintly amused. “God, I mean. But you... you are different. Malleable. Idealistic. You care so deeply for others that it shapes everything you do. Every choice, every sacrifice, guided by that fragile, persistent love you harbour.”
He lifted Jayce’s chin with a metallic finger. “I want someone to speak to. Someone to understand me. To remember me. You’ll remain intact.”
“No,” Jayce hissed, jerking away. “I won’t agree to this! Let the others go!”
“I admire your sentiment,” the Herald said softly. “That’s why I want to keep you. But, if you are so insistent on resisting, then perhaps some refinements are in order.”
