“I said keep off me!” the girl spat, swaying ever-so-slightly. “Do you not understand basic English?!”
Yang moved to step into the pub just as the man threw his opponent off himself and across the floor by the door. She stumbled and landed with both feet and one hand on the ground, skidding back into a table and causing two half-pints of beer to slosh over the side of the table onto the scrappy young fighter. With her recoiling from the liquid spill, the man took advantage of her distraction by stomping over to pick her up and slam her against the wall. He drank in the support of their fellow patrons, all drunkenly eager for excitement
“You should learn some manners,” he growled.
The girl squirmed and clawed at his hands, pure anger glaring from her heterochromic eyes. “And you should go harass someone else. I told you already; I don’t have what you’re looking for.”
