Summary
When Sand’s awake, he has all the appearance of being unyielding, the sharp lines of his cheekbones and his jaw all made of pretty edges to be caught on. Ray likes the edges. He can take a little pain with his pleasure; he hasn’t ever done anything else. But without Sand conscious to uphold the image, those sharp edges seem closer to the smooth facets of a glass, clear and transparent and strong enough to cause damage when it breaks.
