When Kim wrenches the door open, it's Kenta standing in the hallway, arm dropping almost comically now that he has nothing to bang it against. Except he doesn't really look like the Kenta North remembers and occasionally sees in his nightmares. That Kenta has the general vibe and humanity of one of those uncanny valley wax figures and skulks around in all black, brandishing a knife in a blood-stained hand.
This Kenta just looks kind of pathetic.

Kim jumps. Apparently, laying down with his eyes closed sharpens his senses to rival Babe’s but standing in a kitchen wide awake dulls them down to nothing. He hadn't heard Sonic approach, but the younger alpha is standing by the kitchen island, clad in maroon silk pyjamas. His hair is pulled up into a small ponytail that reminds Kim of the Teletubbies. It's adorable.
“Are you okay?” Sonic asks hesitantly. “I don't mean to pry, but I hear you moving around the house every night.”
