Summary
He is so deep in thought, so lost in the past, that he startles when it speaks. "Hello," it says. The surprise makes him jump. And hearing his voice again...of course he heard his voice in the last years, on the radio singing or giving an interview, but it's a whole other thing hearing it in person.
'He's not really Oscar' he repeats to himself.
"I’m Oscar. Nice to meet you! I'm so glad we will be together for the next seven days. You can ask me whatever you want."
(Or: Because they think he's lonely, Lando's friends decide to jokingly give him a real size “doll” merch of musician Oscar Piastri, not knowing he is Lando's ex)

Summary
Oscar isn’t ashamed to admit that he’s genuinely kind of terrified when he signs with McLaren. Even putting aside the entire drama that is the contract debacle with Alpine. It had been bad enough being their reserve driver, he didn’t think he could stand to be their actual driver.
Still, the guilt had been weighing on him like something heavy. Both for the entire drama, and the knowledge of whose seat he had taken exactly.
He was glad suddenly that he had never gotten around to disclosing his real designation to the team, because at least that was one less thing they could use against him.or
(Oscar, a newly presented omega does what anyone could do when panicking; he lies about his designation. He think's it will be an easy situation, right up until the grid begins acting so strange)

Summary
The Maxcar sequel to my fic Oh, golden boy
...
Oscar giggles to himself again. Max cocks his head at him in question. He must probably think Oscar’s gone insane. He can’t fault him for it. He is feeling a bit insane. He blames it on the gin. “I don’t think anyone’s ever called me sweet before. Or emotional.”
Max looks at him for a long second, his gaze heavy, wandering. For all the time he's forced to spend in front of a camera, Oscar has never learned to be comfortable being looked at. For some reason though, when it is Max looking at him, it never seems to be an issue. When Max looks at him, he doesn’t feel like he’s being scrutinized, surveyed to be then analyzed and picked apart a hundred times; he feels simply being seen, taken in with all his goods and bads as if they're not something to be judged, but to be accepted as a mere, faultless facts. “Well, maybe they don’t know you well enough.”
He blushes, his face feeling ablaze. “And you think you do?”
“It’s a work in progress.” Max says, simple as ever, simple as if the statement doesn’t want to make Oscar down the entire bottle of alcohol in front of him and start screaming.Series
