Summary
“I understand completely. It’s magic. It’s my life—and yours. These past weeks of… not being in touch of the Weave, or sensing it but being unable to commune with it, have been… beyond strange. Even with the orb’s effect, I was always able to—what?”
“No,” she said, not even trying to hold back her laughter, “Tell me more what it’s been like being unable to commune with the Weave. Is that what you’re calling it these days?”
Or: Gale and Rylle get drunk, reminisce, and commune with the Weave together at the tiefling party.

“This journey couldn’t go fast enough. I’d put the wind behind our sails myself if I thought it’d make a difference.”
That strange cocktail churned in her stomach once more in tandem with the rocking of the ship. She would call it seasickness if she hadn’t always had an iron stomach. She kept her eyes low so he wouldn’t see it.
Or: Gale and Rylle make their way back to Waterdeep.

“Nice to meet you, Astarion. I’m Ilcor—I’m a monster hunter.”
Astarion smiled, all charm and affability. “Is that so? My, you do seem like a useful person to know.”
--
Ilcor's new companions may have been selected by the haphazard waving of an alien ship's tentacles, but she gets along with them like a house on fire—one of them especially. But when one of them is a monster hunter and the other is harbouring a sharp, undead secret, how long could that possibly last?

Summary
Standing in a patch of sun, dust motes around him, Astarion looked hallowed, the single point of light in the otherwise dank chamber. The noon sun turned his hair silver, a thousand thousand strands so fine they might make any spinner green with jealousy. He was angled away from her, so she could see only the point of his jaw, the way his neck disappeared beneath his lace collar. The fine goldwork on his jacket shone.

Passerine woke on the Nautiloid missing one of the unfortunate side-effects of her pact... but, as it turns out, there is one exception to that.

Summary
Shane Hollander is a man who thrives on structure, routine, the solid ground of a ten-year plan. Ilya likes that about him, likes the embracing squeeze of having a life organized in tandem with Shane.
No one would call Ilya a man who thrives on structure. But it’s there, if not in his DNA then in the patterns of his brain. A call-and-response of: they do this, I do that.
When Ilya’s life is flayed open for the world to dissect, how will they push-and-pull their way back towards what was once a well-organized life?
“I thought we could go through the schedules and figure out what days we’ll be in the same cities this season, or when either of us have a couple of days off in a row. Maybe make a shared calendar, so we c—”
“A sex calendar? Your parents are arriving in thirty minutes, and you are proposing making a sex calendar?” Oh, this was delicious. He’d be able to eat out on this for years, if Shane was willing to give him that long.
“It’s not a sex calendar! It’s just … when we might be able to see each other,” he finished, already sounding defeated.
“And what are you planning on doing when we are seeing each other? Not fucking?”

Summary
Shrugging one shoulder far more casually than he possibly feels, Ilya says, “I like both. Is secret, okay?”
“Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.
He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.
A year after mysteriously dropping out of the 2009 draft, Shane Hollander is signed by the Boston Raiders, right behind Ilya Rozanov. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston — but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Especially not when staying away from each other starts to feel just as impossible as getting along.

Summary
“Adventurous,” Ilya said, smiling sharply.
“Shut up.”
“This is unlike you.”
“Shut up.”
Ilya did, pulling open the sealed cardboard slots instead and upturning the box over his palm, not all that careful considering its contents were glass, letting the bottle fall into his hand.
“Shit, Rozanov,” Shane said, exasperated. “I was going to return it.”
“Oh, no, you will go broke now?" Ilya popped the cap off the perfume and sprayed it at Shane.Shane Hollander finds a hobby.

Summary
We won’t release a statement right away, someone from the front office said, but if you’re missing a couple games there’s going to be questions. What are we going to call it? A family emergency?
Ilya had almost laughed. What emergency? His father is already fucking dead.

Summary
The Metros really were lousy at hockey. Shane Hollander was the only talent they had, which was why they threw the C on his chest before they even made it to the All Star break. The Raiders hadn’t given Ilya even an A yet. Coach had taken him aside and told him they weren’t going to think about a leadership role on the team until he’d finished his rookie year. He had enough to deal with, Coach said, which was nicer than saying Ilya was still nineteen, and his English sucked shit, and they weren’t quite done being worried about “character issues.”
Ilya Rozanov’s rookie year reimagined by someone with serious hockey-watcher brainrot.
