“The carpet is fucking ugly,” Sasuke Uchiha muttered from Naruto Uzumaki’s elbow as soon as they stepped through the grand glass doors of their school formal behind the rest of their group.
“Look at it,” Sasuke scoffed derisively, running the toe of his fancy dress shoe along one cream-coloured swirl in the burgundy carpet. “Who the fuck thought this colour scheme was a good idea?”
“Of course that’s the first thing you notice about a place like this,” Naruto said with an eye-roll. He went to punch his boyfriend’s shoulder playfully but Sasuke slapped his wrist away and looped his arm through his instead and goddammit—Naruto just about melted into that ugly carpet.
“You’re staring, idiot.”
Two months after that fateful night in the closet, Naruto and Sasuke attend their Year 12 Formal.
