He’s twenty-six, he’s never heard of someone getting their soul mark five years after their 21st birthday. He stares at the name on his wrist with a mixture of happiness and dread. It feels like fate or destiny, or whatever fucking entity that controls this is laughing at his expense. Why else give him a soulmate after he’s had his heart crushed and almost died. Why now when he’s more of a mess than usual.
What can he possibly have to offer Carlos, whoever he might be?

Summary
He’d seen glimpses, between glistening smiles and hurried kisses
Of nights filling the rooms between these walls with laughter and soft sighs
Of swapping stories and secrets, beneath the crisp sheets of a warm bed
Of a messy kitchen and socks on the bathroom floor
Someone to shake his shit up
To blow into his neat little life and cause a little chaos
Someone to crack open his closely guarded heart
To reach inside
Find those soft spots
The things he’s kept hidden since he was a boy
Someone to make him feel
Alive---
The night after TK's confession at the police precinct, Carlos sits on the edge of his bed and thinks about the world he'd seen in those green eyes.

Summary
Ever since I got here …everything feels grey
Moments, big and small, and the many ways TK brings color to Carlos’s life.
“Baby, do you remember the first time I played you this song?”
He feels the bass reverberating through his chest, thinks it’s pumping right through TK and into him. Vibrant-colored lights from wild psychedelic images bounce from the LCD screens on stage through the crowd, reflecting off the glitter streaked across TK’s face.
“TK, you know I’ll never forget that night.”
