Summary
After moving to a whole new city after being kicked out of her old apartment, Melody has no friends and a whole new school. And to top it off--- she's anxiety-ridden and antisocial. She has no ideas how to make new friends, so she spends the entire day alone and by herself. That is until a trio with a pretty leading lady named Reagan knock on her door, inviting her to hang out. Motivated by her newfound crush on the girl, she meets a whole new group of friends!
But with that new group of friends comes a new group of struggles. And... puberty? Melody goes through being accused of being a gang member, throwing a basketball on an attempted school shooter's head and almost being suspended, being sat next to the attempted school shooter at lunch after he comes back from suspension, losing her friends one by one, all of her friends but one somehow being in love with her, almost being kicked out of her apartment again, cutting herself, and moving on to high school.
TLDR: Melody is a nervous girl in a nervous school before her lesbian crush lures her out of her mancave to meet her friends.
