Summary
Shane Hollander didn't mean to become a gay icon, he meant to become a hockey player. The gay thing was just...incidental, or whatever. Who better to help him cope with this mixed bag of deeply complicated emotions and inadvertent responsibility while introducing Shane to the joyous parts of Queer Culture than a group chat with queer hockey players and the substantially better halves?
Series
- Part 1 of the queerness of Shane Hollander

Summary
Scott and Eric gave eachother a look that Shane and Ilya knew all too well. The slightly disapproving, how the fuck did this even happen look. It never seemed to bother Shane much, but it always got under Ilya’s skin. Loving Shane was the easiest thing in the world for him, so why did everyone else have such a hard time accepting it? He could understand the initial shock, but it had been two years since they were outed. No one gave Scott and Kip that look anymore, or Eric and Kyle. So why them?
“What?” Ilya asked, annoyed.
“Nothing! Nothing,” Scott said defensively. “It’s just still a little weird to me.”
“Is weird to you that I am in love with a man? You are homophobic now, Hunter?”
“That is obviously not what I meant. It’s just… you two. Together. It has never made sense. Like some sort of weird enemies-to-lovers trope.”
Or Ilya defends him and Shane's relationship to their friends, and Shane is stupidly in love.
