She’s pretty sure that Dr Grace isn’t accurately translating half the things Rocky is saying, but most of what he is telling her is that Rocky has a better way of doing what NASA wants them to do, and honestly, it seems like Rocky is mostly right. She probably doesn’t want to know what the other half of what Grace’s new alien friend is saying, if the things that are making it through what she’s calling the “middle school teacher filter” are “why would you do something the dumb way when you could do it the right way”.

"I..." Merlin began, trailing off. Arthur waited. "I, um... You see..." He tried again. Arthur felt another stab of resentment rise as his shoulders seemed to slump in resignation. What had Gwaine done to him? He was about to suggest Merlin speak to him alone when Gwaine's expression went completely blank before turning to look at the prince.
"Ah," He winced and offered a dazzling smile "Hello, your majesty. You caught us at a bad time."
"Have I?" Arthur asked coolly. Merlin blinked - looking Gwaine over warily.
"Yes," The knight continued and gestured between himself and Merlin. "We were just about to have some amazing sex. Right in that alcove actually," He said, nodding a bit towards a nook in the wall behind Arthur. "So, if this isn't anything urgent..." He trailed off. Arthur stared.
He... He had misheard, right? Definitely. For a moment he thought Gwaine had said... No. Absolutely not.

Gwaine learns that Merlin has magic. Arthur learns that Gwaine is hopelessly in love with Merlin.

There’s a flint being struck under his skin, generating sparks, seeking dry brush to ignite and swallow in flame.
Merlin is terrified.
He isn’t a seer, never mastered the art of scrying, but even he knows something is looming over the horizon.

To keep the storms at bay, he kept moving, never settling, never lingering. But, every so often, a tug on his magic drew him to a forest forgotten to time, where the magic felt like a hug from a forgotten friend.
One season, Jack finds the forest suddenly occupied by a witch and his familiar, who – for the first time in his memory – is able to see him. When the bite of winter grows too strong for the witch, Jack is drawn in to help by forces he doesn’t fully understand, changing the course of both of their lives.
Some world-building, some snowballs, some annoyed Toothless, some smut, some happily ever after.

Yet here he was, 21, about to die in the wrong place (not a bad age to reach in the Archipelago when you’re Hiccup Haddock, let's be honest).But that was the thing wasn’t it? Hiccup made plenty of marks all in the wrong places.
