The Hero's Spirit? ...it requires... a vessel: whether born, fabricated, or some unholy mixture of both, as long as its purposes are fulfilled.
The Hero's Spirit, present in Link after Link, endows upon its vessels the unusual power to animate inanimate materials as if part of the body itself. Five heroes in particular have done so more extensively and more consciously than others, due to a variety of circumstances and origins. Five heroes in particular have been targeted.
New Linksmeet-style AU, featuring 6 Links brought together and fighting to save the Hero's Spirit, and thus countless Hyrules. The intention is to write an introduction and then add in oneshots and illustrations every so often in an episodic way.

Hyrule has a secret. A secret from everyone he knows, from his brothers in the Chain. There is a curse on his blood, a curse that calls to monsters and wants to resurrect the King of Evil. A curse that can render Hyrule completely useless.
He keeps it a secret. He doesn't tell anyone. He has a medicine and can keep his curse at bay.
It won't become an issue. He can fight it back. He just needs to keep going, and everything will be alright.

Prince did not need to eat, but Dire his dear companion did and separate from the hand of Ganon in their lives he worried about his friend if he did not eat properly... and he worried, too, whenever stress pressed close to his mind.
But they had spent so much of their lives together by now, Prince knows what to do to bleed that stress from Dire's bones and he takes quiet pride in that.
