Summary
Raiden Ei, the CEO of a renowned Inazuman gigacorporation, finally reemerges from the shadows after a 5 year long hiatus. The reason behind her absence hangs over her like a cloud, but more than that, the unresolved end of her last relationship comes back to haunt her just as soon as she steps over the headquarters' threshold. It looks on judgingly and her resolve can do little to resist the temptation.
Or, Ei is in heat, doesn't know if ghosting Miko counts as breaking up, and ultimately, the plot doesn't really matter.

After a rabies exposure, the virus must travel to the brain before it can cause symptoms. Therefore, the incubation period may last for weeks to months depending on several factors such as location of the exposure site (in relation to the brain) and age; in extremely rare cases it could be dormant for years.
Rumi thinks about this one frequently, lying in bed at night; the idea that you could be wasting away at any moment in your life. A poison in your veins with you none the wiser– like a ticking bomb just waiting to go off.
You would need to get bit or scratched first, of course, and if you took the right precautions you would likely never know. And Rumi has never been bitten anyway. She’s fine.

Celine tells her that it would be over because they’d kill her, that they would use their weapons against her, but all Rumi hears is that it’d be over because they would stop loving her and maybe that would kill her before their blades ever could.

Summary
The sound of rapid knocking at her window made Rumi startle so badly she hit her knees on the bottom of her steering wheel, her hip somehow knocking into the gearshift and her wrist banging against the door. She hissed in pain, hearing a muffled “Oh, god, sorry!” and winding down the window.
Instead of the serial killer she’d been at least partially anticipating, the rolling of the window exposed wide, apologetic eyes, a bright brown with little flecks of golden warmth in the irises, black hair rolled up into a messy bun. “Hey, hi, so sorry, didn’t mean to scare you — just, any idea how long — god, it’s cold—” the woman shivered bodily, large, soft shapeless snow falling in clumps and sticking to her hair and, for some ungodly reason, bare arms “—the road closure will take? My radio doesn’t work and it looks like we’re in a 5G wasteland.”
“Why are you not wearing a sweater?” was the first thing that came out of Rumi’s mouth, which wasn’t the answer to the woman’s question that she was pretty sure she did actually know — somewhere deep down in her brain that wasn’t stuck on the outrageous statement on her t-shirt or the pretty bow of her lips.
