Hirvitagard, Capital World of the Serene Empire. Legends tell of its founding, of how their ancestors sallied forth from the Sacred Realm of Heimgard, and with nothing but grit and the Goddess to guide them, they travelled the endless void for a hundred millennia until they arrived here, where in their thanks, the people began to build wonders upon this world in preparation for Her arrival.
Or that's how the story goes anyhow. Goshenite believes none of it; fireside tales from the older generation, warped by time and distance into myth and legend, then taken by the youth and worshipped as fact - that's all it was to her. Yet, she supposed someone had to have sent the first colonists here, and those drone ships full of life-essence afterwards, but surely their origins were not as fantastical as gifts from some… great Goddess of the Stars?

John-117 woke up in a Pelican, screaming down in an uncontrolled re-entry to an unknown planet. He woke up surrounded by many of his Spartan family, long-gone and long-dead. He woke up to a strange new world, filled with magic and monsters.

YorHa units 9S and 2B are ordered by command to locate a detachment of resistance members who were supposed to secure the wreckage of an unknown ship. Master chief lands in the world of Nier:Automata to explore his surroundings for a way to repair Cortana and ends up finding a new war. This one is centered around something he fought for as well, but he doesn't know it's already fought in vain. (Takes place after Halo 3.) This story will center around Master Chief and YorHa units 2B and 9S, as well as many others.

It is the year 2095 of the Council Era by Citadel Council reckoning.
A deep space probe launched by the Batarian Hegemony centuries ago transmits a simple signal via quantum entanglement. All Clear. No Stellar Civiliziation Detected. Viable Relay. Two weeks have passed, and the admiral in charge of the security fleet has received confirmation that the observation delegation is coming. He decides to enjoy himself while he waits, and throws a banquet for his crew. The admiral is proposing a toast to the fine future of the Hegemony when, abruptly, the relay activates.
It is the year 700 After Earth by Vector reckoning.
The most well-informed and paranoid of people take action, in secret. They send out living ships to secure the object, and quickly identify what it is: an alien deep space probe. The technology runs on a combination of familiar and unfamiliar principles, with recognizable programming in unrecognizable code. The thing's engines are centered around an odd glowing blue substance that isn't like anything they've seen in Sol. It's the sign of an unfamiliar civilization. The investigators decide to take it back to examine. Two weeks later, Charon explodes.
