Summary
There’s no such thing as love.
No such thing as love, no such thing as hope, no such thing as kindness. Not without personal gain.
It’s a comfortable mantra, a well-worn silent affirmation on Asim’s tongue.
So why did he do it? Why is he here, lying next to a living enemy? What did he gain from saving the life of someone who wouldn’t have saved him? He’d have to blame the months on the icy waters and the ritual abuse by his fellow crew members for being the youngest in the unit. It had to be a fluke, not a flaw in his system.
A story set in the Avatar: the Last Airbender world, running parallel to the main story. All featured characters are original characters besides mentions of world figures like the Avatar, the leaders of Nations, etc.
