Summary
There’s a magician living in an abandoned warehouse down on the Tricorner Docks.
Park Row has its fair share of strange tales and rumors floating through the cracks. The kids of the alley talk at length, telling ghost stories and cautionary tales. Passing advice on how to survive from one night to the next in the form of fun little parables that make the cold nights feel a little bit warmer, and maybe let them pretend that their lives are all a fun little game, just for a few moments.
The magician, at first, feels like a fable. Something that a kid saw and read just a little bit wrong and didn’t wait around to find out what was really going on. The kid who spotted the magician – a 9 year old red-head with green eyes and a smattering of freckles across his pale face – tells the tale like a myth.
A magician with golden hair and golden eyes, who clapped his hands together and rebuilt a car from scraps with a flash of light. Taking nothing in payment but a bottle of whiskey and a home-cooked meal.
(Or: The one where Edward Elric ends up in Gotham, decides Jason Todd is his, and makes it Bruce Wayne's problem.)

Once again, their father was praised for pulling some sort of miracles when he lived in Resembool. Edward scowled to himself, of course, if their jerk of a father hadn’t left, then maybe they wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. Maybe he would have performed whatever the “miracle” everyone speaks of for his family. Then she wouldn’t die, she would be safe and they would be happy again. Just like it was before…when their Mother's smile was never forced. If Edward could just find him…he looked over to Alphonse who met his gaze and gave him a concerned look.

On one sudden day, the sky rumbled. The heavens shook as the mountains trembled and the earth cracked.
Palace lanterns swing and dance in fury as the everlasting firelights of the heavens shudder, bright like the sun. Every heavenly official jolted awake to rush out of their golden palaces, shouting and yelling with wonder and awe.
"Who just ascended?"
"This person must be really talented and remarkable...!"
But in the next second, all the deities of heaven widen their eyes, thunderstruck.
"Seriously?"
"Give me a break!"
"Not him again!"
"What? The pipsqueak?—"
"WHO’RE YOU CALLIN’ A PIPSQUEAK?!?"
That infamous pipsqueak, the little runt of the three realms, the Fullmetal Crown Prince of Jinling, he... he... he... he fucking ascended again!

In hindsight, that version of me was an idiot, but you see—" Cale cast a ferocious glare on him, a shame that using the Dominating Aura on a patient with heart disease would violate the doctor’s code of ethics (not like he was afraid of using it, of course). “Yeah, okay. Fine. Straight up? I have a bomb.” Have? “And it's gonna explode. Like, right now.”
A beat.
“Tony, what—?!”
Then it fucking exploded.

Summary
