Summary
Michael Robinavitch had done his best to keep his secondary gender hidden for the better part of fourty years.
As Chief Attending now, twelve years in the ED, most people simply assumed he was an Alpha and he never once corrected them.
His system worked.
Until a particularly bad heat left him so strung out that someone seemed to feel the need to help him out.Jack Abbot knew the second he met him.
Even after several months of working together, the Alpha never said a word, not even when he could see just how bad Robby was taking care of himself.
What Jack could do though, were smaller things.Series

Summary
Samira leaned forward conspiratorially, “Is he always this much of a flirt?”
Lena grinned at her, “Only to keep his patient satisfaction scores up.”
Samira swivelled to face him, a pleased smile on her face, “I knew you were only being nice to me for a good review.”
Jack shoved his hands into the front pockets of his scrubs, mainly to make sure they didn’t do something stupid like tuck the errant curl on her cheekbone behind her ear, “What can I say Ms Mohan, you had me on my best behaviour.”
—---
Doctor Jack Abbot never expected his life to be flipped upside down when Florist Samira Mohan came into his ED one late Thursday evening. Especially when she smelt like eucalyptus, roses and vanilla, and looked like the embodiment of sunshine.Series

Summary
It happens on a random Friday. Mel remembers it in painstaking detail. There’s an hour left in her shift, and Abby brings Tanner into the ED with a gash on his arm that needs stitches. She’d taken the kids to the park after dinner, and he’d slipped while horsing around on the climbing equipment with his sister. Frank lets Mel do the necessary three tiny stitches, but he watches her movements with what feels like laser vision.
Afterwards, Mel goes to the computers to start the discharge paperwork. She tries to work on it anyway. It’s just that her eyes keep drifting over towards where Frank and Abby are talking quietly and she can’t seem to look away. Abby is all soft curves, kind eyes, and long brown hair that Frank’s twirling around his finger absentminded. She laughs at something he says and the love for her is clear on his face. Frank is, one hundred percent, in love with his wife.
It’s then, with certainty, that Mel knows she needs to move on. Not that anything has happened or that he even knows about her feelings. It’s just that Mel knows, without a doubt, that she’s only going to get hurt the longer she lets herself have feelings for him.
