“Aw, you dodged!” the kid complained. “I was being so sneaky too,” he grumbled, dusting himself off with two arms that were definitely a normal length now. When the kid finally looked up at Law, he already had his knife clenched in one hand, eyes locked as he held a fighting stance.
The weird kid looked confused, but Law didn’t budge.
“Sorry if I scared you, I’ve never seen you before. Are you from the Gray Terminal?” he asked. Law had no idea what that was, and kept his mouth firmly shut. That only seemed to annoy the kid more, who puffed his cheeks out. “That’s a cool knife,” he tried next.
Law stayed silent. The kid sighed heavily.
“Can you not speak? I guess its okay if you can’t,” he said, as if he had any say in the matter. He shook off the annoyed look and smiled, brighter than anyone had any right to be. “My name is Monkey D. Luffy! I’m gonna be king of the pirates!”

Summary
Law headed back into the Sabaody Archipelago on a whim.
He tried to get the Strawhat captain away from the Warlord Kuma without thinking.
They ended up on this strange white island due to a very clear choice by said Warlord. Now, Law's goal should be to get back to his crew as soon as possible. For some unknown reason though, Mugiwara-ya seemed to think he owed Law something for his 'help.'
Law couldn't even figure out what he'd apparently helped Luffy with.

The plan is simple: reconnect with Shanks and break his heart.
The problem is he doesn't fucking want to. He hasn't seen Red since Marineford, and the last thing he said to Red was "I hate you." Not exactly primed for a friendly reunion.Except for the letters. They've been coming in increasing frequency since the two last saw each other. The letters speak of a Red who misses Buggy, who wants him around. They make Buggy feel something--he loathes every single one.
He most certainly does not have them all memorized.

Shanks misses Blue. His crew have been trying to get him to shut up about him for years. It got worse after Marineford, until it became a running joke that every mention of Blue's name would earn a berry in the Buggy Jar.So, when Buggy shows up out of the blue, he's ecstatic. He's so happy he can't even question why his ex-best friend would show up after years without contact. When Buggy mentions the letters, though, Shanks is confused. Years of alcohol abuse have left him with memory loss, and he can't quite remember everything he's done.
Without answers, Shanks plays along. He'll do anything to keep his Blue around.

Luffy already had one problem, being that he had no idea what he was, or why he needed to eat human flesh to survive. Keeping it a secret from the rest of his crew while traveling was hard, but he managed well enough with the support of his first mate. He didn't expect being DIFFERENT meant he was on the hit list for the World Government. And add to that, Luffy's devil fruit being sentient and ALSO on the hit list of the World Government, he seemed to be shackled to a fate long ago set in stone for him. That didn't mean he'd let it overrule his quest to become the Pirate King, regardless of all the many complications being a ghoul and a god brought along with it.

No longer capable of becoming "Straw Hat Luffy", no longer recognizable to the person he had been, he decides a different fate, to sail with Ace and find Sabo.
Fate has a funny way of reshackling him, though. And some things, some experiences, you just can't heal from.
