There was a brief pause, "You called me back you can't sleep?" He blurted out bluntly.
Red flushed against Keith's cheeks and he hurried out a quick, "Yes! But clearly that was stupid. I'm sorry— I'll hang up." His finger went to the hang-up button before he heard a protest.
"WAIT!" He pulled the phone away from his ear with a wince but luckily Lance quieted down. "Sorry, I mean just hold on a moment— what's up? Why can't you sleep?" He asked more softly, concern leaking into his voice.

Keith has insomnia and can't sleep. Fortunately, Lance invites him over to his apartment and helps him get some much needed rest.

Summary
They were watching a movie together and Lance was trying to talk to Keith about it only for Keith to ignore him and be on his phone—the screen was off by the way—and every time Lance asked if he was listening, Keith just said, “Uhm, yeah.” Noncommittally.
And Lance had it—he had enough of Keith being a brat.
Lance gritted his teeth and said, “Keith.” With a stern voice.
It was subtle, but Lance could see the way Keith barely tensed up at that voice. “What?” He still had the audacity to ask with such attitude.
That was the final straw.
or
Keith decided to be a brat instead of behaving and Lance punishes him for it. Except Lance is kind of bad at following through with his punishments.
