“Oh.” Their eyes meet. Philza is standing less than two meters away, a long heavy looking robe covering what Techno knows to be a quite lethal pair of wings. “Are you here for the babysitting?”

“Uhhhh” Techno blanks, “Yes, Yes definitely. I know everything about babies.” How hard could it be to take care of a child anyways?

Finally. Why the fuck it took so long he had no clue. He twisted the crochet hook, and tried to grab at the yarn from the starting loop he had created. And he tried again. It slipped through the hook, almost obstinate in its persistence to avoid his attempts. Summary
Technoblade has a pretty good set up in his abandoned town. Sure, there's loads of zombies clamoring to eat him alive, but where isn't that the case in this economy? There's some decent supplies still around and better yet, no people!
It's too bad that some awful neighbors had to move in and ruin his set up. Well, they'll probably just die or get him killed before it becomes a problem anyway...

Summary
No one ever promised Technoblade safety before.
Plenty of people have offered him plenty of things, but they were always presented as deals. Techno gives himself to them in exchange for something: renown, his life, an escape route off a dying planet. It all seems the same after enough time, and this latest server is no different. The revolution that was supposed to come of it never did.
Techno is tired and done with it all. Frankly, he doesn't even care if there's an age minimum for retiring. If he wants safety, he obviously has to make it for himself.

Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.
In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.
But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.
He kept taking the cash from the assholes messing with the residents who lived in the area (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived). He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.
tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.
