Summary
Samira has been feeling off for a while. Nothing specific – just a low grade, exhausted sense of wrongness pervading her body, slow and steady. She’s been successfully blaming her mom for this for the last several days. The revelation of a new marriage and world tour – the whole life that Samira herself had been imagining and sacrificing for ripped up in front of her very eyes. Surely, she thinks - ignoring the nausea, the dizziness when she stands up from treating a patient just a little too fast – she’s earned the right to feel a little less than perfect?
It’s an excuse that’s working well for her. Right up until, that is, she’s doubled over in chairs, vision swimming, and a sharp pain in her stomach that tears her breath away from her lungs entirely.
Through the haze, somewhere to her left: “Get in the fucking chair,” Joy says.

Samira doesn't notice that Jack has drawn closer until he’s grabbing her right arm and lifting it to rest along his shoulders, her elbow bracketing his neck.
“What are you doing?” she asks, a bit startled. “Jack -”
“Hold on,” he tells her, and then he scoops her legs up with his right arm, sweeps her up, and he is carrying her. Strong enough to do so with only one arm.

Summary
Dr. Samira Mohan is moving back to Pittsburgh after finishing her residency in Los Angeles. On the plane ride home, she winds up sitting next to Dr. Jack Abbot, who she left just a year ago after a complicated day that left her in close quarters with Jack, making things a little complicated before she left. They have a lot to talk about and five hours to do it.
