    Summary

Josh has done his fair share of stupid shit in his life, but taking a much needed trip to Vegas with the intent of losing himself at a bar/card table, and instead winding up married to a perfect stranger is right at the top of the list.

“You reckon there’s any way we can get it annulled?”

“Someone referred to me as your wife the other day.” Buck started.

Eddie choked on air. His cheeks were so pink. Why did he blush like that? Buck was paler than him, and yet somehow he didn’t blush anywhere near as hard as Eddie himself did.

“Do you think of me as your old ball and chain?” Eddie asked, going along with the joke despite the frankly upsetting colour of his cheeks. How was this Buck looking in love with him? Obviously they were comfortable with each other, but still.

Buck gasped, his eyes big, his back straightening out as he got ready to fight with God himself on this topic. Eddie knew immediately the rant he had started, Buck’s mockingly serious voice raising as he stared Eddie down intently.

“I would never refer to my wife as the old ball and chain. You don’t hold me down, you pick me up, you dirty little bitch. You’re the wind beneath my wings. God.”

Two facts are facing Evan Buckley
    1. After the Lawsuit Buck is on the outs with his team at the 118.
    2. When he was doing his recertification test before falling ill to the Pulmonary Embolism he got a job offer from Owen Strand to join them at the 126.
Now almost 5 months later he is still being treated less then dirt at the 118. Maybe it’s time to move. Now if only he can get through a shift and doesn’t screw up at this new place everything would be great.

    Summary

    From a Hobbitkink prompt:

The battle was over, and Thorin Oakenshield awoke, naked and shivering, in the Halls of his Ancestors.

The novelty of being dead fades quickly, and watching over his companions soon fills him with grief and guilt. Oddly, a faint flicker of hope arises in the form of his youngest kinsman, a Dwarf of Durin's line with bright red hair.

(Follows the story of the War of the Ring).

(Bagginshield, Gimli/Legolas) In which recovery takes time, the dead members of the Company take to watching Gimli as though he’s a soap opera, the living struggle with being left behind, Legolas is confused, Khuzdul is abused, and Thorin is four feet and ten inches of guilt and anger.

    Summary

The worst dreams were not his nightmares. He had faced blood and death since being a young man, had held his brothers as they breathed their last, honored their spilled blood with prayers and remembrances. When he dreamt of them, of their faces which had once smiled without blood marring their teeth, he welcomed their presence, as it reminded him of their lives.

No, the worst dreams, the ones which left him breathless and shaking in his bed, were those in which he was hale and healthy again.
