Summary
Bucky doesn’t panic. Or, more accurately, he doesn’t allow himself to panic. Not if he can help it. He can feel the first threads of it clawing at his throat now, though. He walks as fast as he can without jostling the whimpering mass of fur in his arms too much, squashing down the images of Barton bleeding out on the floor, of his lifeless body being carried away, no idea whether he or the dog are going to make it.
When Bucky finds Clint and his dog bleeding out in an alleyway, he doesn’t expect his life to become all about dog-sitting duties, instagram, and shitty daytime TV gameshows. He also doesn’t expect to get drawn into Clint’s latest drama. He really should have known better.

"This is not the same coffee you've been bringing me," says Clint. "This coffee..." He gulps down the last mouthful and pours himself another cup. "This is the best coffee I've ever had. What is this? Where did you get this?"
"Four days," Bucky says thoughtfully. "I figured it would take you at least a week. I guess your taste is more discerning than either of us thought."
"None of the coffee has been the same," Clint realizes. He points at Bucky with the hand not cradling his perfect coffee to his chest. "You're doing a thing."
Bucky grins. "I," he confirms, "am doing a thing."

Steve Rogers peers down at his tablet as the television plays in the background. The show appears to be somewhat puzzlingly about dogs who are also police officers, and the Asset finds himself drawn into the plot against his will. He frowns at the screen as one of them is injured stopping a bank robbery.
“Don’t worry, it’s just a flesh wound,” a voice says, startlingly close.
