Summary
Dana thinks all three of her girls are beautiful, in their own wonderful ways. They were adorable little girls and they've grown into gorgeous women. She's got some pretty damn good genetics to hand out, thank you very much: the three sets of proof are right there. Her oldest Sophie has darker blonde hair than her mother and it has so many gorgeous shades of honey and gold threaded through. Her middle, Caroline (though she became Carrie in college), has Benji's deep blue eyes and Dana's heart-shaped face and it makes her look like a freaking cherub in all her baby pictures. All of her daughters are beautiful and Dana would never rank them against each other, in her love or her affection or her esteem.
But in terms of individual traits, she thinks the one she likes the most is the one she's never going to acknowledge out loud. That no one ever acknowledges out loud.
She loves her youngest daughter's nose.
Dana loves Rosemary's long, sharp, aquiline nose that looks not quite like hers or Benji's.

Summary
When the Captain bowed it was by law alone. It was simply a to do, a reverence between Gods and men and Jaheira of Tethyr: the old druid in between. She could see the hard-cut cleverness in the sailor's eyes the moment she stood and shook the salt from her hair. She meant no deference. Tacit and cunning, this Minthara only knelt so she might slice at an enemy’s heel.
So as she bowed, Jaheira plucked herbs from the hearth. The flowers felt like velvet in her palms and fell like snow into her wine.
Because it had not been so long since she played these games of Gods and men.
Jaheira and Minthara, on the island on Tethyr. A loose Odyssey-inspired tale with a sapphic twist.

Not a man at all. Some wind-whipped force of storms had stepped foot on her beach. Jaheira watched from the keyhole of her cottage as the Captain looked at her island like she could wrest the peaks from their mountains and pin them into submission. Such mortality in her. One who spit at the thought of death.
One like herself, once.

Summary
Incendia accepts her hand and shakes it. Theodora’s palm is smooth and soft under hers, save for the developing line of calluses on the pad of flesh under her fingers.
That night, the cold silence of Incendia’s quarters was filled with the sounds of her sweet gasping as she clawed into the deepest parts of herself using the same hand she shook Theodora Massimo af Scarus’ hand with.

When the morning shift alarms toll at 7:00 AM sharp, Incendia Chorda’s body will be found scattered through Footfall’s network of gutters. House Chorda will arrive half a hand past 5:00 PM to collect and identify her remains, which have been cut up into tiny pieces and mixed with grox trimmings from the Shadow Quarter’s wet market, for burial. Thrones will be exchanged and resistant witnesses silenced because, even in death, House Chorda and the Drussians will not allow one true thing about Incendia Chorda stain the living saint she was meant to be.

Summary
There is a vague thought of proper courtship, somewhere in Isobel's mind. But there is also a room vacant at Last Light Inn—a perfect sanctuary, far away from anyone who might deign to interrupt and drag in with themselves the rest of the world—on a night mercifully relieved of the beckonings of duty.
A few tendays after their fateful meeting, both Aylin and Isobel decide they are quite done with restraint and yearning.

"Aylin," she manages through a slightly dry, halting throat, "you… you are… literally divine. In every way. I—"
Aylin shakes her head with a small smile. "But of the two of us, it is you who is Selûne's finest creation."
"I'm unsure your Mother had as much to do with my specific construction as She did with yours," Isobel attempts to demur only half-jokingly.
But Aylin will not be dissuaded. "Did She not?" Her smile turns brilliant, her entire bright, intense regard aimed at Isobel. "Then I must conclude you improved upon Her design yourself, which makes you all the more marvellous -

RT Women Week Day 5 + Day 7
Walking the iron corridors of the mon’keigh voidship, the Mors Aeternae, Yrliet is reminded at every turn of how little she belongs. Where her kin’s craftworlds are living and ensouled, this ship is cold, brutal, and fashioned for war - a mirror of its makers.
And yet, for reasons she cannot understand, the Elantach seems determined not only to show her kindness - he seems intent on easing her sorrows she never truly spoke aloud by presenting to her a surprise.Series

But still, she could not help the deep-seated melancholy of knowing her Path would never allow her to return to the beauty of its halls again, and that knowledge never felt as present as it was now - now that she had exchanged the natural beauty of the Lilaethan, for the confines of the Mors Aeternae.
The Eternal Death, in crude mon'keigh tongue.
A fitting name, chosen by a species who had nothing but death and violence on its mind.

Summary
Somewhere up there, among that bridal veil of stone, lies Creche K’liir, where Lae’zel was born and reared. But Lae’zel is not there anymore. She has gone somewhere more distant still, somewhere far beyond Shadowheart’s reach.
How fitting that the moon should weep. For what has been done to Lae’zel, and for what Shadowheart is about to do.
In a voice scarcely louder than a breath, she says, “Moonmaiden, forgive me.”
Two years after the events of the game, and one year and six months after learning of Lae’zel’s demise, Shadowheart returns to Baldur’s Gate.

She used to go to Vigdis's quarters when this happened. Not her sleeping quarters, but the cramped vox chamber she spends so much of her time in. The hum and whir of tangled cables and a dozen groaning cogitators, all hooked together and ready to spill another voxcast over the ship, was almost enough to silence everything else. Vigdis herself helped muffle the rest. Idira could lean with her head against the cool flat of the wall and lets Vigdis's low voice sing her to…not sleep, really, but something lulled and half-lidded. Something nicer, at least, than where she is now.

Summary
Lady Theodora’s heir is a witch. Not some twitchy Imperial Guard dog like Edelthrad, who probably thought he could hear the Emperor’s voice in his morning gruel, or one of those bug-eyed Leiran soothsayers who mainlined warp visions until their heads popped. A real court psyker—the sort who’s rubbed silk-clad elbows with planetary governors and trade barons and pretended not to notice them recoiling.
Idira hates her at first.

But no high collar or artful sweep of hair can erase the witch’s brand from the nape of Gisa’s neck. Beneath the iron facade, Idira spies little violet flashes of the girl she carries around inside her, the girl she once was and maybe will be forever. The snot-nosed, bruise-kneed brat clinging to life so hard her fingers leave welts.
It’s like looking in a mirror; her gut twists every time. It’s easier to shut her eyes.

Summary
Shadowheart’s memories are bookmarked by thresholds. A tavern door, a shuddering cathedral, a ladder to a light unknown. Minthara’s tent is no different. She knows, she knows, if she steps into this pixie ring she will awaken the parts of herself she’s so carefully locked away.
And yet the drow's command echoes all the same.
You will come to me, Shadowheart, when you find yourself in need of a key.

For the first time, the night isn’t wrapped tight around her throat. How strange to be hand in hand with the sunrise when it’s Minthara, when it’s Shar, when it’s– well.
She’s too soppy to think right now. Instead she beds down into fine furs and feathers like a princess. Minthara shines with exertion above her– carved arms like marble in the low blue light.
“Come here, nightwarden. I’d like a cuddle.”

Summary
He comes up from the dark carrying little but his sword and the story of it.
He carried phrases, moments; turned them over in his mind as he tried to find the meter of a true adventure story. Tried to find something in the misery that he might have read in the creased pages of the chapbooks and novels that had filled the shelf in his childhood bedroom.

In the morning he would choose between walking on his ankle or another day of hunger before he could resupply. The next village to the south was larger and he thought he remembered a courier post. He’d pay to send off the manuscript. He didn’t like to keep them on hand for too long; Wyll couldn’t guarantee anything was safe while it was within his grasp.

"Words supplied by my lieutenant," Lae'zel whispered, turning her head to capture Minthara's mouth in a kiss. Their sweat mingled along their lips and tongues as Lae'zel spoke whenever both were spared a moment's reprieve. "The words that I would never have considered if not for you, my ilharess."

The highest hall of your tower had been transformed, blending worlds to honour the one you loved. Arches of imported zurkhwood towered overhead, patches of pale, frilled lichen clung artfully to their polished massive stems, blooming with illusory bioluminescent spores that drifted like slow, gentle snow, casting a soft Underdark glow. Interwoven with Waterdhavian evergreens and night-blooming cereus, they framed tables laden with deep rothé cheeses, brine-pickled (ethical) intellect devourer delicacies, and zurkhwood-spore confections alongside your favourite surface sweets. The setting sun cast hues of peaches and purples across the room, while prismatic lights reflected off crystal decanters.
