Three years after recovering from a leg amputation each, Lapis and Lazuli travel to a small coastal town with their foster-brother Gevo, hoping to distance themselves from their traumatic past. The only accommodation they can afford is a cheap beach-side motel run by a sleazy old man; it isn't great, but at least it's better than where they came from. There's no constant threat of violence, they're free to come and go as they please… and there's this really sweet hot guy next-door.
