“Always hide in plain sight, Perseus,” She told him, taking his feathered coat and shaking it out until it became a blue raincoat. “Humans can be quite stupid nowadays. They forget the stories of us, and we need to be thankful for that. Never swim naked, never forget your raincoat, and never ever let someone hold your coat.”
Percy had the urge to grab his coat and go hide in his room when his mom brought home Smelly Gabe for the first time, but he didn’t. He sat on the couch and pretended to tolerate the man. A precious cloak is a far bigger target than a random old coat. Hiding in plain sight.

The faint sound of some old country song trickles in from the car’s radio, the tap-tap-tap of his fingers on the steering wheel alluding to his nerves. Percy had always known he would one day return to the godless place he had once called home, however short a period of time that may have been. Sometimes, it was all he could think of, in the quiet moments after sharing laughs with those closest to him, the ones he called family. He thinks of what could have been, had Jason not died, had Bruce not sent him away, had he not discovered his heritage.
The What if’s? plaguing his every thought. It had gotten better as he had grown, learned to embrace the world around him rather than resent it. He made life long friends, he lost some, he had fallen in and out of love, he graduated high school, he’d gone to college. So many life changing experiences, and yet, he still found himself longing for the dreariness that was home. And so here he was, in a car gifted to him by his godly sunshine cousin, driving himself back to where it all started. Gotham City.

Percy Jackson-Wayne was taken in by Bruce Wayne after Batman rescued him from his abusive step father, Gabe. He grew up with two amazing older brothers, Dick and Jason. Anytime he got into trouble, his family was always there to bail him out. Monsters avoided Gotham (something about the crazy people), so his childhood was fairly peaceful.
Things changed when Jason died. His Dad shut him out and sent him off to boarding school. Soon, Monsters started showing up, and he only got in more trouble. Eventually he ended up at Yancy Academy and befriended a boy named Grover.
It all went to crap from there: Gods, Quests, Wars, Giants, even Tartarus.
Now, after years of fights and running, Percy just wants to come home for real. He misses his Dad, his brothers, his home. He literally went to Hell and back, now all he wants is to be with his family.
