Summary
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Kaveh mumbles, without opening his eyes. He’s been reading, too—or pretending to, which is more likely, because the upside-down architectural plans on the table have not moved in half an hour, and his pencil is behind his ear instead of in his hand.
“I’m not,” Alhaitham says, too fast. Which is absurd. Of course he is. The entire point of his visual cortex is to perceive the world around him, and unfortunately, the world currently includes Kaveh. Shirtless. Glowing. Freckled.
“You’re making that face again,” Kaveh says, one eye cracking open, voice annoyingly smug for someone still half-asleep. “The one where you’re trying to suppress an emotion and failing.”
“I don’t suppress emotions,” Alhaitham replies. “I manage them. Responsibly.”
Kaveh snorts. “Oh, is that what the internal aneurysm looks like? Good to know.”
In which Kaveh weaponizes freckles and Alhaitham forgets the scientific method.

“Sit.”
“Haitham, if this is another lecture—”
Kaveh comes home exhausted, and instead of arguing like usual, they end up admitting they like each other. One thing leads to another, and it turns into soft, heated kisses on the couch.
(or after all the tension and pining, they finally stop pretending and just give in)

Summary
After a mission gone wrong leaves Simon “Ghost” Riley deaf in one ear and Johnny “Soap” MacTavish with a permanent leg injury, both men are forced into early retirement. Soap uses his pension to buy a crumbling house on the edge of a quiet town, determined to make something of it, even if the place looks like it should’ve come with a tetanus shot.
Ghost shows up with a duffel bag and his usual scowl, moving into the guest room to help with renovations. Between faulty wiring, leaking pipes, and a fridge that seems to growl at two a.m., the two of them fall into a new rhythm of grocery runs, hardware store trips, and late-night fixes. The banter is sharp, the silences softer than either expected, and somewhere between the broken walls and peeling paint, they begin to rebuild more than just the house.
It’s a story about finding purpose when the battlefield is gone, about healing old wounds in the comfort of shared domestic chaos, and about realizing that sometimes “home” isn’t a place, it’s each other.

Summary
An alternate first meeting, where Ghost and Soap meet each other in the field under infinitely worse circumstances than either of them would have liked:
Ghost wakes up in a pit under a building with a bomb attached to him, certain he's going to die. Soap, an EOD tech amongst his other specialties, is the only person available to at least try to save him. It should be fraught, and tense, and miserable all around, and it is; a whole lot of Ghost slowly losing his mind while Soap does everything he can to save his life. But it would probably be easier if Ghost wasn't a stress-flirter, and if Soap wasn't the kind of endlessly competent that he loved, and if, by virtue of their situation, they didn't keep ripping open each other's wounds and then patching each other back up again after.

Summary
Soap had felt safe. The ocean had been his home.
He was young, but he was skilled, was a quick learner. But humans wanted entertainment, and what humans wanted they took.
He did not know how long he had been stuck, stuck with cruel beings that viewed him as nothing more than a shiny curiosity to gawk at. They knew ways to make him do what they wanted.
He knew the rules now, knew not to vocalise, knew now not to bear his fangs. The marine biologist team around John Price and Kate Laswell want to help. They are a safe haven to heal, perhaps find a way back to the ocean, but first they have to gain his trust.
And then, there is Ghost, who too has met humanity at it's worst.

Summary
"And then the eldritch myth himself, Ghost. Apparently, Gaz knows just as much about him as Soap does. Which is next to nothing aside from his mission stats and his name. It seems like even talking about him spooks Gaz, like he’ll emerge from the shadows and snap Gaz in half, but honestly? He sounds interesting. Maybe he’ll run into him one day. Probably won’t have trouble picking him out of a crowd, what with the legendary mask and stature."
The military is plenty big, but with John "Soap" MacTavish and Simon "Ghost" Riley both being in the SAS, a rather small group in comparison to the rest of the military, how did they never run into each other beforehand? Even in passing? What with Soaps record setting file.
So here is if they actually ran into each other before the Las Almas mission.

Summary
Soap doesn’t remember the ambush outside Prague. He doesn’t remember the medevac, the surgery, or the two weeks he spent in a coma. What he does remember is Ghost’s face when he wakes, sitting at his bedside like he hasn’t moved in days.
Turns out, Ghost’s been listed as his “next of kin.” Which is strange, because Soap doesn’t remember marrying his lieutenant, either. However, hospitals only allow family to stay overnight, and Ghost wasn’t about to leave.
Now, as Soap learns to walk again, Ghost helps him eat, move, and stay awake. It’s supposed to be just for practicality and convenience.
But there’s nothing practical about the way Ghost looks at him or the way Soap looks back.
Recovery is messy. So is pretending not to care.
Or: Soap survives the gunshot, and Ghost pretends to be his husband so he can take care of him

Summary
When a flirtatious subordinate won’t take a hint, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley blurts out that he has a boyfriend. It’s a lie meant to shut things down – until the story spreads across base and command expects his mystery partner to show up at an upcoming formal event.
Meanwhile, John “Soap” MacTavish, ex-military and now civilian, tells his family the same lie to avoid another disastrous matchmaking attempt. Their mutual friend Kyle "Gaz" Garrik – utterly delighted – connects the dots and makes the fake relationship official.
But one event turns into two. Then into family weekends, texts at midnight, comfort cups of tea, and quiet moments that start to feel dangerously real. What began as a tactical cover story is suddenly the most stable thing in either of their lives.
They said it was temporary.
They didn't expect to want more.Bookmarked by Thing_6

Summary
“I was licensed for two years, before I let the thing lapse.”
Logically, MacTavish knew he shouldn’t have been surprised. Riley was full of surprises, the lieutenant housed a myriad of talents that you’d only find out about during the most obscure moments. Like the time Ghost had re-wired a tank when they needed the armor to get out of a sticky situation.
“And how long ago was that?”
“Four years.”
“Reassuring.”
Or the one in which the team is stuck in an abandoned town and Ghost comes to their rescue with a little known secret

Summary
Ghost is a *literal* ghost.
He died in World War II, with Soap by his side, in a battle neither of them survived. In the moments before death, they made a promise-to find each other again, someday. A love that never had the chance to bloom, cut short before it could even be named.Soap keeps that promise without knowing it. He’s reborn. He grows up. He becomes the Soap everyone knows, with no memory of the man he once loved.
Ghost doesn’t get that mercy.
Stuck between worlds and years, he waits until hope is all but gone-until one day, impossibly, he sees him again.
Alive.
