Summary
Obi-Wan has no idea how or why Xanatos of Telos has irritated the Dark Council enough to warrant a death sentence, but in the end, it doesn’t really matter. The Dark Council wants Xanatos dead and if Obi-Wan likes being alive, then he wants whatever the Dark Council wants.
What Obi-Wan does not want is a nosy Sith Master inviting himself along on this mission, but apparently Master Jinn likes causing problems.

Set in a universe where Force sensitives who are not Jedi but do undergo heats and/or ruts might be dangerous to those around them while in said heat or rut, and so sometimes Jedi are dispatched to help them because a Jedi would know how to handle another Force sensitive.
1) the lighting of a fire = Qui-Gon is dispatched to help an omega named Obi-Wan through heat
2) the triggering of an earthquake = Qui-Gon is set to go through rut, and Obi-Wan insists on helping him
