  Summary

  Susie was tired. She was tired of always being tired. Ever since her mom died and she got put into the foster system, she's basically been on survival mode all the damn time. She can barely ever scrounge up a meal a day, let alone three. She couldn't remember the last time she had a full night of sleep.  She was tired.

  She was eight when it happened. They were driving home from Susie's dentist appointment. She was never very good at brushing her teeth; still wasn't. The guy in the other car was drunk off his ass. The cops said his blood alcohol percentage was so high he shouldn't have even been alive.

  But he was, and now her mom isn't.
