Every morning during the academy, she had a tradition. Back before ABIS, during the academy, a newspaper would be pressed under her doorway before she woke. No one ever noticed what was tucked between the leaves of the daily bustle - Hayato had teased her age for a month straight when he caught wind of the tradition, his laugh gruff and muffled by the cigarette passing between his lips and hers.
But within 2 months and 3 days, she had packages on every high-ranking instructor and half the police academy board at her fingertips. With new gossip arriving each morning, conversations were easy to have with her superiors about… leniency.

Summary
She's chasing a ghost, again, and this time she was too far behind him. Kubicho, the chemical plant, feet against pavement, she searched in case he wandered back into her life. Last time, she was lucky, even if the result was only finding the pale ghost of Hayato after all her searches. All Date left behind was the broken remains of an eye and the fresh damage to a small part of her heart that Hayato carved out for himself, shattered twice-fold. She doesn't deserve it, perhaps, to chase after him a second time.

"No need to thank me for not being Hera," Amphitrite dismissed. Percy took a sip of tea. "That is what you meant, isn't it?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. For once, Percy learned from his mistakes and stayed quiet, though he did give her a bashful smile to confirm the sentiment. "Hm. Well, either way, I owe you thanks. Not many children would agree to spy on their father for me."
Percy put the cup down. "I'm not spying on him," he reasoned. Amphitrite scoffed. "I just happen to be in many of the places he is when he's in the mortal world." A long pause followed, and Percy rolled his eyes. "Yes, he was seeing a mortal woman. Her name is Lea."
"You owe me twenty of your mortal dollars, child."
Percy bitterly slapped the paper bill on the table between them.
