    “Ilya, what are we gonna do?” Shane says.

    Ilya finishes whatever he has been doing on his phone, and tosses it gently to the bed beside him. He crosses the room to Shane, stands in front of him, squeezes into his shoulders with his big hands, rubbing them like he means to warm them up.

    “Looks like we will have a little vacation,” he says, with a big obnoxious grin.

     

     

    Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.

    They aren't expecting a volcano to erupt in Iceland and close all the airspace in Europe, leaving them stranded there. Together.

    His heart was pounding so hard it hurt. His entire body was shaking, drenched in sweat, his sheets damp and tangled around his legs.

    "Ilya," he gasped, the name still on his lips, and the realization hit him like a train.

    Oh God.

    It had been a dream.

    Just a dream.

    Shane lay there in the dark, his chest heaving, his body still trembling with the aftershocks. He could still feel it the sensation of Ilya's hands on him, inside him, the sound of his voice in Shane's ear.

    Dream about me.

    "Fuck," Shane whispered, his voice hoarse.

    He was sticky and uncomfortable and completely mortified, and he had absolutely no idea what to do with the fact that he'd just had the most intense wet dream of his entire life about a man he'd spoken to for all of ten minutes.

    After a viral photo outs Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov while they're still busy pretending their years-long situationship is mostly just sex, the fallout gets complicated fast. The world reacts badly. Their teams react worse. Ilya's future in North America starts to look alarmingly fragile, and Shane, who has never met a disaster he didn't try to control into submission, throws himself into fixing what can still be fixed.
