“…No,” Bakugou grumbled with the faintest hint of his hesitation in his voice – the same way he denied it whenever Shouto said they were friends – and that’s how Shouto knew it was mutual.
“You feel it, too, whenever we touch,” Shouto began as he stared into Bakugou’s eyes which he felt he had been lost in for hundreds of years. “The sparks and the warm glow. You hear the beads of the necklace and the fluttering cape. You can feel the gentle breeze and smell the fresh grass and know that we’ve met already a long time ago.”
“So what?” Bakugou countered, and Shouto could feel Bakugou’s faint pulse through his fingertips, beating in tandem with his own. “Who cares? If you wanna waste your time figuring out what this shit means, go ahead, but I got better things to–”
“It means there’s something special about you,” Shouto interjected, and Bakugou’s immediate offense at having been so rudely cut off slowly softened. “That there’s something special about us.”
