It was supposed to be an easy mission. But since when were their missions easy? Nothing bad was supposed to happen. But there was always that possibility that something bad would happen. Bad things, even if they did happen though were supposed to happen to Zenitsu. Not Nezuko- not Tanjiro. Never them. Zenitsu would die if anything happened to them. If he couldn't protect them. But now he couldn't die- he had to live. To live long enough to make sure that that demon didn't finish them off at least. He had to protect them.

And he's a dog, a once disobedient thing that mauled without caution, that starved to survive. A husk of something that knows in the pit of its gut it isn't supposed to be heeling at the side of two gamblers and a warden.
