Summary
There's a dragon-headed man at the piano, the sound of a harmonica sounding as well but no one is playing the instrument. People were drunk off their butts in this bar, listening to a man sing foreign tones while their minds drift.
The piano man at the front, unbeknownst to most, is a teacher, an author and a reincarnation. That last part he'd discarded a long time ago, choosing to live out his last life doing what he loves. That love has brought him here, in this bar singing his heart out. Ghosts of past friends and relatives stand behind him, quietly cheering him on. He can hear them and keeps living the best he can.
One is his ancestor, one just a person he took care of and so many others. They're all dead, but they're the closest things he can count as friends.
He'll leave soon, he's going to teach the next generation of heroes, but now he'll just live in the moment. In this place that stinks of alcohol and depression, he can just release them of their sorrows for now.Series

Summary
Once alive, once dead. This is his second time around in a world that seems to taunt him at every turn. From characters, his faded memory brings to familiarity, to his very body he inhabits. "If you really thought I would bend after a harsh childhood," a snarling voice echoes into the void beyond him, "You are gravely mistaken."
Something laughs in response, a ghost compared to this mortal's stolen flesh and blood.
"I know," A sympathetic voice says, her hand running through the large cat's snow frosted fur, wet under her thin fingers, "I miss my friends too. I wish they were here."
Something growls at her existence as if its net hadn't caught the big fish lurking under the boat. Like a crumbled idea that missed the bucket. A missed mistake.
Elsewhere, a lifetime, a universe away, a playlist is set to shuffle, its music echoing out in empty hallways. No one is there to listen to a dead man's soul. -
