Truth be told, he doesn’t mind it; sure, would it have been more convenient, sometimes, to be able to just pull the guitar from under his bunk and have an impromptu jam session in the comfort of his own room? Well – yeah, he supposed. But all in all, tucking himself away in Starbug – in the silence and cool, dim isolation of the hangar – is sometimes a welcome respite.
And it meant he could actually play. Not just discordant notes and tooth-aching string squeaks, either, but actual songs. Actual music.

He stands in the foyer of his home, stock still, heat leeching from his stockinged feet into the cool tile, and he stares at nothing.

Summary
Admittedly they'd both been a bit in their cups by then, but Lister sort of thinks he gets it. Some of his favourite parts of sex had little to do with the actual act itself and more to do with the desperation of being close to someone, of breathing the same air and sharing the same body for a bit. Don't get him wrong, sex was great, but it was the little things that really made it; a hand holding you closer, losing all sense of time outside the other person, the cuddling after where you laze about in bed naked with each other, vulnerable but safe. All things Rimmer's never experienced—and stuff Lister's probably not up to giving him, truthfully.
Not all of it, anyway…but maybe some of it.
"Okay, don't bite me head off," Lister starts cautiously, wiping his hands on his green cargo shorts, "But I'm gonna put something on the table…metaphorically, that is."
Rimmer, predictably, says nothing.
Lister licks his lips and thinks he should just come out with it, cause worst comes to worst at least it'll definitely make Rimmer start talking to him again.
"I think you should put me prick in your mouth."
