Summary
In some universes, the arrows that pierce Faramir dig as deeply and as harshly as they were intended to. In some, they miss completely. In this one, the agony that follows is not enough to rob him of his consciousness as he comes back to Gondor. The ripple of change still affects little else.
Or: Faramir is awake as the siege of Gondor begins, but Denethor still wants to take the same path.

Summary
Faramir instinctively moves forward to keep up, before Arwen stops and turns to her instead. "Would you walk with me here, if I asked you too?"
The question has to be more than that. "I would."
Arwen tilts her head slightly, and her eyes shimmer in the sunlight, "Would you want to walk with me?"
Instead of letting silence come again when Faramir's answer does not come, Arwen prompts again, "By my side?"Or, Arwen tries to make her feelings clearer to the Stewardess of Gondor.

Summary
In the Houses of Healing, there are few people that Frodo has not spoken to. Although there are few people he has spoken too with complete honesty, even fewer who can understand all that he went through on that quest. And then he meets Boromir again. A man who starts in the former category, and very quickly goes into the later.
Or: Frodo falls and gives himself a minor injury in the Houses of Healing. Boromir helps more than he strictly needs too.
