Summary
A Ministry-mandated return to Hogwarts should have been a chance to rebuild, but for Hermione Granger, the trauma of the war and her fear of magic make every spell she's forced to cast feel like a battle. For Draco Malfoy, freedom comes with a price: strict parole and an Unbreakable Vow with the Minister for Magic. As their paths continue to collide, will the pair be able to navigate the year without their secrets unravelling, or will everything they’re trying to rebuild be lost?

"You are my godson Harry not my heir".
“You know,” he said, tone almost teasing, “for a library this size, I’m surprised there isn’t a single book about how to start over.”
Hermione smiled faintly. “That’s because we’re still writing it.”Bookmarked by SpellboundScribler

Summary
With Lucius imprisoned, Narcissa hears whispers of what Voldemort has planned for her son. She throws the dice and rekindles an old alliance, dragging Draco from one side of the looming war into the grey and foggy middle.
A traitor to his housemates, and suspect to the rest of the school, Draco faces the school year as a social pariah. Perhaps that’s what he needs: some time alone, in his own head, to figure out where he stands.
Or perhaps he needs to befriend three very loud and very bossy young women.
This is how he could make it through the year. A hard brick wall fortified around him, protecting him from Crabbe and every other Slytherin who thought of him as a blood traitor. And a soft gaze for the rest of them, unfocused in his periphery. Polite and courteous and held at arm’s length.
His eyes found movement, but it wasn’t the Snitch at all.
Détente arrived with not so much as an easing as a smashing with a mallet. The perpetrator was slender and five-foot-two on a good day, though not for lack of trying, considering her genetics and the volume of her food consumption. She was already fully dressed for battle, broom over her shoulder like a weapon.
