...His mirror image glared at him grimly, almost with scornful derision, from sparkling golden eyes that sent shivers down his spine.
What the...?
In an instant, he felt ice cold and sweat formed on his skin, as if he were getting chills.
However, it got even worse. The reflection of his face blurred in the water, as if it were slowly dissolving, even though he was still staring spellbound into the basin.
All that remained was darkness. Nothing but black water.
But before he could turn away, it suddenly turned a reddish-yellow color and flickered as if flames were bursting out and reaching for him.
A grotesque grimace stared back at him, framed by consuming fire. But it wasn't his own. It was grim, disturbing, hideous... It didn't even look human, but rather like a sinister mask with a black helmet.
The moment he jumped back, the menacing creature emerged from the marble basin like an evil demon crawling out of a well in some creepy horror holo-movie.
But this wasn't a movie, was it?
