She was a Medical Student before she decided to go to Pandora with her Older Brother; Ex-Marine Jake Sully, and drive her Avatar Body that her other Brother, Dr. Tom Sully, had gotten made for her and was going to surprise her about being selected to go to Pandora as his Plus One since the Avatar Program was lacking a Doctor, and had been looking through the list of potential Doctors, and Medical Students on Earth. It was just their luck that Dr. Sully had a genius Younger Sister who could have already been a Doctor, but due to a lack of confidence, Lia had held herself back.

So… Broken machinery and the stench of engine oil? Lexy Sully speaks that language fluently. Dealing with crude coworkers and strict military protocol? That’s just another day at the office.
But Pandora is a different story. Bioluminescent jungles, six-legged predators, and ten-foot-tall blue giants. Then there’s the beautiful, lethal alien who looks like she’d sooner slit Lexy’s throat than say hello. And to top it all off, her brother is right in the middle of this hellhole WITH HER.
Lexy is an engineer; she doesn't do "unknowns." If she doesn't understand a system, she fixes it. She’ll learn every curve of this world until the mission is done and she can go back to the comfort of cold steel and familiar tools.
