In a panic, Caine willed himself back to his office, snapping his fingers to ensure the door was locked. None of the humans knew where his office was, or even had the means to get to it, but he still didn't want to take the chance. His eyes, flickering between red and blue, darted around the room. He needed an outlet, he couldn't just let this frenzy lay waste untouched, left to run around in his mind and crash into every wall in its path.
And then Caine got an idea.

Summary
After running for a long time, an AI needs to restart its systems in order to maintain quality functioning and prevent the environment from destabilizing. Failure to do so may cause catastrophic harm to the system and those inside it.
The world is getting glitchier by the day, but Caine refuses to reboot. Pomni and the others must convince him to do so before something goes horribly wrong, not realizing that his reason for skipping a reboot stems from fear and trauma an AI was never meant to experience.
