“You’re it for me,” Jon said, smile relaxing into the gentle expression Martin loved best.
Martin really wished it were that easy, that simple.
He wished he lived in a world in which he’d met Jon first instead of Jonny. Where there was nothing lingering in the shadows of their pasts reminding them that there would always be something missing, even if they both chose to believe otherwise.
A world in which he wouldn’t need to choose between reality and ghosts.
.If the universe were kind, Martin's soulmate timer would have stopped the first time he touched Jonathan Sims, those ever-changing numbers fading into pale remnants on his skin, the search finally over.
But his timer was already long dead, lost to a man whose skin had been smudged with lightning bolts and the silver glow of starlight.

Mechs! Jon, missed connection Soulmates, unknowingly pining for the man you're already dating.

While The archive's assistants try and figure out this band and why their boss has been acting weird, they start to realize that he might be a lot more dangerous than they thought. Tim and Sasha are set on finding out his secrets, Martin is trying to keep the peace, and Jon is trying his best not to shoot his assistants... or anyone else for that matter.

Summary
Peter rarely gets sick, his heart being weak and two seconds away from collapsing aside, he was never prone to being sick as a child and the few times he was…he sort of had to go through it. Medicine would be provided but he had to ride it out on his own.
So yes, maybe he is sick, for whatever reason he just…got a cold or something. He should go and try to take some medication for it. His brain is slow, but he is starting to catch onto the fact maybe, just maybe he has a fever.

He couldn't tell you the date nor the time, and he couldn't begin to imagine what was being seen through the eyes of his body. He knew that it had been dark. And when the thing spat him out, he had been stuck somewhere in between for a very long time. It wasn't in his skin, then, but he wasn't in it, either. He was in between. For hours? For months? For years? He had no idea.
Cramming his arms under him and wincing at the sting of ice beneath his palms— warm palms, living palms, palms attached to wrists that thrummed with the pulse of a striking heart— he slowly pushed himself up to look at his surroundings.
__________When the Distortion moves from Michael to Helen, Michael is spat back out somewhere in the middle of London, stuck figuring out where to go and how to live again.

Martin makes his way in the direction Tim had pointed and finds himself face to face with his boss. He startles, taking two steps back on instinct.
Jon looks equally surprised, and actually gives a small shout. "Martin, what are you doing here?"
"Uh, Tim invited me to his for movie night?" Martin offers, although it sounds more hesitant than he means it to. But wait… He looks down at what Jon's wearing, a slightly too big sweatshirt and joggers. "What're you doing here?"
To himself, Jon says, "Oh did he?" Then, louder, to Martin, "Well, I live here." Jon leans around Martin, calling down the hallway, Tim! Tim, we agreed to warn the other when inviting someone over!"
