Summary
Having a successor obviously meant spending time with them and training them. That was a given, so of course Wukong would get close to the kid! But there was absolutely no way that he was like a dad to Mk. Everything he did was strictly mentor-like, no parental action in sight. Right?

Summary
"Dis often chided her older brother for being a misanthropist. She did it so often it had become a term of endearment. It was true that Thorin struggled with people; he struggled to form and maintain relationships. Dr. Grey had diagnosed him with this and Thorin hadn’t the heart to tell him this wasn’t a symptom of his PTSD, it was a symptom of his personality. He exercised a sense of apathy with almost everyone he met… But Bilbo was different. Thorin actually found himself wanting to know more about him."

Bookmarker's Notes

Summary
Thorin makes a confession at Lake-town. Bilbo reciprocates. But love is a fragile thing, and there's still the matter of the dragon.
Everything begins to fall to pieces after the Battle for Erebor, and Bilbo may be the only one who can pick them up again. But love is a dangerous thing, and it is a heavy burden to bear. As loyalties are called into question, Bilbo must play his cards carefully and deal with the fallout as it comes.
It will take great sacrifice to save the people who matter to him the most.

Bagginshield equestrian AU bc I'm a horse girl- Horse trainer Bilbo and farrier Thorin
Shout out to Amy, Charlie, and Izzy for helping me develop the idea and the lore for this AU
Thorin used to be a high-level equestrian, but no longer rides since the accident
Rated Teen for suggestive jokes and implied sexual situations
--------
Thorin pulled into the long and winding driveway of Bag End Stables. The path was decorated with neatly kept flowers on either side. The trees that littered the grounds were starting to turn fiery shades of red and orange, as a crisp autumn breeze gently swayed their branches. Altogether, the farm painted a very pretty picture. There was a large barn that held about 20 stalls, by Thorin’s estimate of the size, and a small indoor ring for riding. The rolling hills were filled with fields fenced off for the horses, with lush grass and ample space for them to stretch out and play, and a large outdoor ring. Crowning the tallest hill was a small house with a green door. It was not the fanciest farm, and it was certainly rustic, but it was well kept and obviously well loved. -

Summary
Bedsharing is common sense amongst the dwarves. Heating the cold stone of Ered Luin is difficult and resource intensive, not to mention sleeping with kin is considered a marker of safety and closeness.
Sometimes, despite their penchant for producing hoards of faunts, even hobbit couples don't share beds, especially in the upper class families. It's common sense. Your spouse might snore or wake up for breakfast earlier than you. Sleeping with friends or family once you're no longer the youngest of faunts? Unheard of, and odder than Rudagar's rutabaga-shaped back mole besides.
Or: Bilbo is very confused, and the company doesn't understand and insists.
