After sacrificing himself to destroy Origin and free Valisthea from Ultima’s influence, Clive wakes up in his younger body lying among the ruins of Phoenix Gate. With Ifrit under his control and the stolen powers of the other Eikon’s still at his disposal he knows that the monster he’d tried to defeat is still out there and that the world and its people are still in jeopardy. But he’s not content to allow history to play itself out as it had. Not when there’s something he can do to change it. Not when there are people he can save.
Cid had always thought that Mythos was a story, and that Barnabas was mad for seeking it. Even madder for subjugating himself to Ultima and its false promises. But when he encounters an impossible eighth Eikon in the chamber beneath Drake’s Head and tales begin filtering back to him of a youth with the power to wield all the elements he knows he’s racing against a ticking clock. And that, if the Royalists are allowed to get their hands on him first, their entire world is doomed.Series

Sometime during the night, their positions shifted. Clive faces Cid now, the other man snoring softly, breath sleep-sour and padding under his nose. In fact, it’s impossible to not look at Cid, because the man has somehow ended up half atop him, with Clive’s thigh wedged between his legs. If he moves even the slightest bit, the man will surely jolt awake.
And of course, Clive’s hard, because he fell asleep next to Cidolfus Telamon and the man is so achingly, incredibly handsome that Clive sometimes wants to crawl out of his own skin with want.
