Summary
Dragged back to Valinor on the heels of Morgoth’s first defeat, Mairon has been set to working in Aulë’s forge for three Ages as penance for falling prey to his former master’s evil. There, he meets Artanis, the golden daughter who wishes to become a great smith and is desirous of being apprenticed to Mairon himself. He responds with a snort. “Do you want my help or not?”

The darkness did not entirely flee; a final fragment remains within Galadriel's body directing her dreams and exposing the desires she still denies. Caught in a trap of her own making, and in desperation, she reaches for the only being who could possibly assist.
But what cost will be borne by summoning the Dark Lord into her (usually) fortified mind?
