Summary
Steve Rogers has always been in love with his best friend, Bucky Barnes. Desperate to follow when Bucky ships out to war in 1943, Steve volunteers for Project Rebirth, an experimental program meant to turn him into the world’s first super-soldier. Instead it fails, leaving him with a condition dubbed “Chrono-Impairment” which sees him travelling uncontrollably through time, to random points in both his and Bucky’s lives.
But with Bucky brainwashed into working for HYDRA, and Steve living life on the run, torn between his own time and Bucky’s, will they ever find the happy ending they so desperately desire?

Summary
When Steve volunteered to infiltrate HYDRA, he was prepared to say "Hail Hydra" and do some terrible things to earn trust. He wasn't prepared to be expected to go along with the sexual abuse of a subordinate with Bucky's face.

The asset "knows" it's not Bucky but wants to be, especially if it'll please Steve, and Steve "knows" it's not Bucky but is so starved for his old pal that it's starting not to matter.

Steve is still half-asleep, and not ready to let go of his dream. It was a nice dream.
The details are already slipping away from him, though, no matter how much he tries to resist forgetting the dream. There were other kids? He was in school? Steve groans, and mutters, “Fuck off.”
“I hate to wake you, but dude, you need to shake this off,” the stranger continues, his voice gentle and laced with worry. “You’ll need to go prepare for your trial as soon as we land.”
