Yoo Joonghyuk doesn’t turn to glare at him, as Kim Dokja had been half-expecting, but his already-narrow eyes narrow further, as if by glaring at the carpet can he compensate for not being able to do so at Kim Dokja. “Rat.”
Kim Dokja’s voice most certainly does not crack. “What?”
“Rat,” Yoo Joonghyuk patiently repeats. And then, faster than Kim Dokja can dream of following, he pulls his arm back and launches his sword at the wall.

Sooyoung is sitting beside her, muttering under her breath, the way she always does when she’s trying to make a sentence work in the little stories she writes on her phone when she doesn’t think anyone’s paying attention. “What’re they doing?” Gilyoung mumbles, shifting forward to squint at the sight. “They never get along like this.”
“Yeah, it’s like seeing a cat and dog be nice,” Yoosung agrees. Gilyoung hates to admit it, but he’s never heard a better comparison.

The sullen silence would have been answer enough, but Jung Heewon’s tail flicks irritably behind her too. Yoo Sangah feels her smile begin to strain. “Heewon-ssi,” she repeats, “I don’t mind if you want to eat, alright? Eat whatever you like. But please, please, clean up after yourself when you’re done. And put the leftovers back where you found them, or we’ll have roaches and rats.”
Jung Heewon only huffs, her ears twitching tellingly. “No, we won’t. I’ll eat them.”
